The Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society (SPEL) of the Tourism area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has prepared a promotion agenda of the island as a benchmark for cruise tourism, both for the Port of Arrecife and for that of Playa Blanca.
On October 19, a first meeting will be held in Madrid with some of the international tour operators with the greatest weight in cruise tourism, including those that have their base of operations in cities such as Genoa and Monaco. Oswaldo Betancort, and the CEO of SPEL, Héctor Fernández, will attend this meeting.
“In our tourism promotion strategy we want to promote the arrival of new cruises to the Port of Arrecife, including international operators that until now do not stop in the capital of Lanzarote, and also incorporate the Port of Playa Blanca into the medium-scale and boutique cruise circuit”, says Betancort.
Similarly, the president of the first island institution announces the "presence of Turismo Lanzarote at the main specialized international fairs". Thus, the first event will be the Seatrade Cruise Global that will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center from April 8 to 11, 2024. This is the leading fair for companies and organizations looking to do business with the international cruise industry.
Lanzarote will also attend in September 2024 another of the most important international cruise and river cruise fairs worldwide, the Seatrade Europe that takes place in Hamburg. It presents all the cruise lines in the world, all the destinations and all the suppliers of the river and deep sea cruise sectors, and brings together those involved in the industry's value chain from travel agencies to shipbuilders.
