91.7% of all hotel rooms available in March in Lanzarote were occupied. This is the highest hotel occupancy per room in the entire country.
If we look at the number of places offered, in Lanzarote, 72.9% of the total were covered, which was also the second highest record in the country, only surpassed by the island of Tenerife, which covered 75.3% of its places.
The archipelago as a whole registered in March the highest hotel occupancy per place offered in Spain, of 72%, and concentrated 41.6% of overnight stays made in establishments in the country by non-residents, according to the INE.
Overnight stays in hotel establishments throughout Spain rose in March by 17.1% compared to the same month last year, to more than 20.6 million, while prices grew by 10.5%, accumulating 22 months of continuous increases.
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), non-resident travelers made 12.6 million nights and nationals, eight million.
During the first three months of 2023, overnight stays increased by 26.6% compared to the same period last year and reached a similar level to that period of 2019, before the pandemic.
