The province of Las Palmas is the third in Spain with the most vacation homes, according to a study by the tourism intelligence company Mabrian.
According to the study, collected by the tourism news agency Hosteltur, only the provinces of Málaga and Alicante have a greater offer than the province formed by Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.
As Mabrian explains, the millions of data on tourist housing in Spain on which this study is based were obtained on March 15, 2025.
Airbnb is the platform with the highest penetration in the Spanish market for tourist use homes. It is estimated that 90% of the offer is available on this platform.
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, from August 2024, the number of homes for tourist use on Airbnb, Booking and Expedia is close to 400,000 in Spain.
The top ten positions in the table with the most vacation homes are completed by the provinces of Barcelona, Baleares, Madrid, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Girona, Valencia and Cádiz.
The study also reveals how many vacation homes each host has on average on Airbnb.
The national average is 2.23 advertisements for homes for tourist use per host, while in the province of Las Palmas there are 2.39 advertisements, which means that it is the sixth province with the most advertisements per host.
The five provinces with the highest concentration are Baleares (3.04), Barcelona (2.63), Girona (2.57), Málaga (2.52) and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (2.5).
On the other hand, the provinces with the fewest advertisements per host are La Rioja (1.54), Pontevedra (1.55), Guadalajara (1.55), Ourense (1.58) and Ávila (1.61).
