Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will offer more than 50 flights between Lanzarote and the United Kingdom this summer

The airlines Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will offer 58 flights and more than 680,000 seats per week on connections between Lanzarote and the United Kingdom this summer, according to the companies.

The two companies will employ more than 100 people in different tasks, such as crew, ground operations, hiring and technicians.

In addition, Lanzarote will not be the only island benefited, but Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will have more than 200 flights per week with the airports of the Canary Islands.

Direct flights will be to the cities of Bristol, Leeds-Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, London Stansted, East Midlands, Belfast, Edinburgh and Glasgow, that is, to all the bases that the airline has in the United Kingdom.

The seats offered will be a total of more than 2 million in both directions, which implies a potential arrival of more than 1.2 million British tourists throughout the season, a growth of 32% compared to the last pre-pandemic summer. With these figures, Jet2holidays will be the main tour operator between the United Kingdom and the Canary Islands for another year, the airline says.

For its part, Tenerife will be the destination that will observe the most activity, with a peak of 83 flights per week and more than one million seats offered in both directions, followed by Lanzarote (58 flights, more than 680,000 seats), Gran Canaria (34 flights, more than 400,000 seats) and Fuerteventura, with 30 flights per week, almost 350,000 seats and the routes to Belfast and Glasgow exclusively by Jet2.com.

In total, the two companies will employ more than 450 people, with 200 in Tenerife, more than 100 in Lanzarote, 80 in Las Palmas and 60 in Fuerteventura.
