The maritime route that connects Lanzarote and Fuerteventura with the shipping company Fred Olsen Express broke its traffic record in 2022, transporting 527,000 passengers and 132,000 vehicles.

With the incorporation of the passenger ferry Buganvilla Express to the route, Fred. Olsen recorded an increase of more than 30% in its trips, offering a total of more than 7,000 connections in 2022. Of the passengers who traveled on the route during the last year, it should be noted that 63% were Canary Islands residents, while the remaining 37% were non-residents.

The shipping company currently offers 24 daily connections between both islands, 12 from each port, and has two ships dedicated to this route, the Bocayna Express, a catamaran for passengers and vehicles that was specifically built to connect these islands, and the recent incorporation Buganvilla Express, dedicated exclusively to passengers.

The company thus consolidates this maritime line that it launched in 1989 and that has been reinforced with the incorporation of a new ship and more frequencies.
