Reservations made further in advance to stay in hotels in Spain in the spring exceed 30% of the total, according to the news portal of the guild hosteltur. Regarding reservations in Spain for Holy Week, the tourism news portal reports that Andalusia has surpassed the Canary Islands, which had been leading Spanish reservations during the winter. Andalusia currently has a share of 19% of the total reservations in Spain, compared to 18% for the Canary Islands.
The bed bank Hotelbeds has perceived what it calls a "significant rebound" in demand since the beginning of 2023, which has led it to ensure that its best fortnight of reservations by revenue in its history has been the one that extended between January 9 and 22. During peak hours of that period, the company claims that it registered one reservation per second.
The OTA has highlighted that January was "very solid" in contrast to a "softer" activity around the end of the year. In fact, last month general reservations "increased more than 50% compared to January 2022 and reached 2019 levels, driven by vacation packages", which are the ones that register the highest demand.
