At the last Fitur fair, Lanzarote presented 'Cicerone', a pioneering project in Spain that, through the artificial intelligence (AI) of Azure GPT, allows travelers who visit Lanzarote to create routes according to their interests and get translations into 95 languages from their arrival at the island's airport.

AI is fully entering the organization of trips as it allows new levels of personalization, efficiency and comfort in each stage of the trip.

Applications such as ChatGPT can propose travel recommendations based on the user and their interests, whether these are gastronomic, cultural, sports or meeting with nature, although it must be taken into account that ChatGPT's knowledge has not been expanded since 2021.

According to the tourism intelligence company, Phocuswright, Spaniards are at the forefront in Europe in terms of the use of AI to prepare their trips, a 12% of the population uses it regularly to schedule their trips.

AI is used for searching for accommodation, translation of languages, historical questions, location of places of interest, restaurant recommendations and the organization of guided tours, among other purposes.

Communicate in the language of the destination

From V3rtice Comunicación, an agency expert in the use of AI, they explain that "this revolutionary technology is not only improving customer service and offering personalized recommendations, but is also paving the way for communication without language barriers in an increasingly globalized world".

In fact, one of the most widespread uses of AI for traveling around the world is the translation of languages. Many tourists do not know the language of the destination, or have very basic notions, so translation devices promote a safer and more interesting trip.

For example, the company Traductores VA has developed the Translator V4, which allows communication with up to 90% of the world's population thanks to its support in 108 languages and its photo-translation camera with automatic language detection.

The device has an integrated SIM card that provides free internet for life to the user in almost 200 countries without additional payment.

Adapt the trip to each pocket

In addition, AI is used to analyze price patterns, demand trends and availability, which helps travelers find the best deals on flights, accommodation and activities. For example, GPT-4 is able to configure cheap flight itineraries for groups of people with several stopovers.

By offering updated information in real time, AI significantly impacts the decision-making of travelers, who can more easily find the best options based on their budget and preferences.
