After a rather flat April in the evolution of housing prices in Lanzarote, in May there have been greater variations. In the last month, prices rose in Arrecife, Tinajo and Yaiza, while they fell in the rest.

The monthly variations are, however, quite more moderate than they were last year, both upwards, the largest being that of Tinajo with 3.5%, and downwards, the largest fall in May being in San Bartolomé with 4.8%. However, the year-on-year behavior shows enormous differences between municipalities.

The largest year-on-year increase has occurred in the municipality of Tinajo, where prices have grown in a year by 31.8%. Twelve months ago, the square meter cost on average 1,400 euros in Tinajo, and now it amounts to 1,846.

The opposite is the case of San Bartolomé, where prices have fallen by 12.7% in the last twelve months. In May of last year, the square meter in the municipality of San Bartolomé cost 2,090 euros, while now it is sold at 1,854 euros on average.

In Arrecife prices have risen by 1.8% in May and 7% since a year ago. The average price per square meter in the capital of the island amounts to 1,462 euros.

In Haría prices have fallen in the last month by 1.3%, while in the annual calculation the increase is 9.3%. Currently, the square meter in the north costs on average 1,898 euros.

Housing in the municipality of Teguise has fallen on average by 1.2% in May, while it accumulates an increase of 4.5% year-on-year, which is the lowest increase among the municipalities where prices rose. That is, all except San Bartolomé.

In Tías prices fell in May by 2.8%, so the year-on-year increase in the municipality that includes Puerto del Carmen remains at 5.6%.

Yaiza , on the other hand, is the second municipality with the largest price increase in a year. In the south, the increase has been almost 22% year-on-year. In the last month, the increase was 0.7%, bringing the square meter to 3,127 euros on average.
