Club Lanzarote is in a position to allocate more than 160,000 m2 of consolidated urban land of its property in Playa Blanca to locate around 600 official protection homes, without the need to reclassify new land. Everything would be done in the area known as Montaña Roja, near the CEIP of Playa Blanca.
“The idea is that the areas that can already be built on should be used for construction, without having to burn new land, which strains growth. But giving the option in the municipality of Yaiza for there to be affordable housing, intended for the population of Lanzarote who have the right and the aspiration to live in a quality place”, says Joaquín Cañada, CEO of Club Lanzarote.
The houses range from 2 to 3 bedrooms. All homes will have a parking space, and the larger ones will have a plot where they can enjoy family life together.
These homes will be destined for sale under the VPO regime or for social rental. The company's idea is to provide the opportunity to have a home for those who can acquire a home at a reasonable price and those who prefer to rent, who will have the possibility of having a low-income rent affordable for the families that need it most.
"From Club Lanzarote we believe that the tourism model has to go hand in hand with the quality of life of the citizens who inhabit the destination, specifically our beautiful island of Lanzarote. With this urbanization, the population is guaranteed that working families have access to quality housing and that new land does not have to be occupied, further straining the island”, details Cañada.
The company believes that this project can provide a solution to the housing problem in practically the entire municipality of Yaiza.
