The National Confederation of Special Employment Centers (Conacee) awards the Canarian Employment Service (SCE) the Conacee Award for the labor integration of people with disabilities in the Administration category for its "excellence" in the management of the funds received by the sector in the Archipelago.
During the 18th National Congress of Special Employment Centers, held in Santiago de Compostela, the Deputy Minister of Employment, Gustavo Santana, and the Director of the SCE, Dunnia Rodríguez, collected the state award.
Conacee highlighted "the effectiveness of the SCE in the management of public funds, in especially adverse circumstances for the Canary Islands, such as the pandemic that severely impacted tourism and the eruption of the volcano on La Palma."
In addition to the award in Public Administration, there are five other categories: Ordinary Company, Special Employment Centers, Personnel, Groups, and Special.
The Awards for the labor integration of people with disabilities already recognized the Canarian Ministry of Employment in 2018, on which the SCE depends, "for its work in general in favor of the insertion" of the group, a management that "has been consolidated in the particular support for protected employment and therefore one of its particular services receives this award again."
Gustavo Santana thanked the national distinction for being the "best stimulus to continue with the firm commitment of the regional Executive in the promotion of decent work for all, in full harmony with the Canary Islands Agenda 2030 towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN)."
For her part, Dunnia Rodríguez appreciates the sectorial recognition of the absolute commitment of the SCE's human team, especially with vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, women, or the long-term unemployed, during a complicated stage for administrative management due to the health emergency and the volcanic exceptionality, a clear example of the permanent need for public services for social welfare.
