The Governing Council approved this Tuesday, at the initiative of the Ministry of Health, the Public Employment Offer of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) for 2025, comprising 702 positions for statutory personnel corresponding to the replacement rate of staff, which was agreed upon in the Health Sector Table on November 17, between the administration and the trade union organizations
The job offer is distributed into 511 healthcare positions and 191 management and services positions, out of a total of 61 different professional categories, the breakdown of which is included in the decree approving the new OPE, which was ratified today by the regional Executive and will be published in the coming days in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC).
In the preparation of the offer, consideration has been given to the basic vacant positions with budgetary allocation included in the organic templates of the eleven SCS Managements, which are not affected by previous public employment offers, nor are they in a reserve status in favor of permanent staffThe offer of positions in the healthcare categories includes 74 specialist area physicians, 77 physicians, of which 53 are for family doctors, and the rest for other specialties such as Admissions and Clinical Documentation, Palliative Care, or Emergencies, and also includes eight positions for primary care pediatricians.
To these positions are added 183 for **nursing**, twelve for midwives, eleven for **physiotherapy**, 115 for nursing **assistants**, twelve for pharmacy assistant technicians, 26 positions for specialist technicians in the specialties of laboratory, pathological anatomy, and radiodiagnosis, among other professional categories.
Management and Services Categories
The offering of positions in non-healthcare categories consists of 191, including 37 in the **administrative assistant** group of the administrative function, eighteen for **usher/porter**, thirteen for **kitchen assistant**, twelve for **cleaner**, ten in the **technical** group of the administrative function, ten in the **administrative** group, in addition to positions for **34 other** professional categories.
With this new OPE, the Ministry of Health continues the path initiated in previous years to reduce temporary employment in the Canary Islands Health Service, through selection processes by open access system, for new personnel, as well as internal promotion, to facilitate the right to professional advancement for permanent statutory staff.
In compliance with current regulations, seven percent of the offered positions, in their global amount, are reserved to be filled by individuals who have been recognized with a disability rating equal to or greater than thirty-three percent, provided they pass the selection processes, prove their disability, and its compatibility with the performance of tasks.
