The Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Canary Islands Government, through the Canary Employment Service (SCE), has published the credit extension for the call for subsidies aimed at financing Alternating Training Programs with Employment (PFAE) for the year 2025.

Through this resolution, the budgetary credit initially allocated for these projects is increased by 8,121,762 euros, bringing the total amount to 33,225,390 euros. This increase does not affect the competitive bidding system and does not imply the opening of a new period for submitting applications.

The programs prioritize the generation of opportunities for those groups with greater insertion difficulties. In fact, more than 55% of the places are reserved for women, "prioritizing victims of gender-based violence, as well as other vulnerable sectors such as people with a recognized disability of thirty-three percent or more, among other groups," explained Ortega.

As the director of the SCE, María Teresa Ortega, assured, "thanks to this expansion on the initial budget, we have the largest credit historically invested in the Ministry for active employment policies".In total, 1,350 unemployed people will benefit from these projects. "With this increase, we ensure that more unemployed people in the Canary Islands not only receive formal training through a professionalism certificate but also gain access to a paid employment opportunity that opens the doors to the job market," he stressed

The expansion allows for an increase **from 68 to 90 in the total number of projects** to be developed on the islands, with the distribution as follows: 37 projects on Gran Canaria and Tenerife each; **5 projects on Lanzarote**; 4 on Fuerteventura and La Palma; 2 on La Gomera, and one assigned project on El Hierro.

All projects have a duration of 11 months and 15 days, with a deadline for commencement of November 30, 2026. Likewise, they include mandatory training in occupational risk prevention, labor guidance, and transversal skills such as equality and the environment.
