Lanzarote added more than 5,000 labor contracts in March

The majority of the new contracts, 47% of them in the hotel sector, were signed by workers with secondary education.

In March, a total of 5,252 labor contracts were signed in Lanzarote, the Easter week campaign has contributed to almost 22% more than those registered in February. So far this year, a total of 13,709 contracts have been formalized on the island. 

With 2,473 hires in March, the hospitality sector accumulated 47% of the new jobs. Other branches of the service sector together added 1,713 hires, which is equivalent to 32% of the total.

Next, commerce, which generated 616 new jobs in March, followed by construction, with 300 hires. Industry contributed with 121 labor contracts and 29 were signed in the primary sector

The majority of the new employees have secondary education, there are 3,203 people. Next, 1,593 of the new labor contracts were signed by workers who only have primary education

University students and those with professional training signed 242 and 111 contracts respectively. The contracts signed by people without studies amounted to 89.

The highest number of contracts formalized in March was recorded in the municipality of Arrecife, where there were 1,925. Next, Tías, which added 1,069 labor contracts, and Yaiza, where there were 1,033.

In Teguise, 609 new labor contracts were signed, while in San Bartolomé there were 401. For their part, Haría and Tinajo added 114 and 101 new labor contracts respectively.
