The CEO of the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo, collected the "Canarias sabe a tradición" award given to the kitchens of the Casa Museo del Campesino during the Gala of the X edition of the 'Qué bueno Canarias Mahou' awards, held at the Martiánez swimming pool complex, in Puerto de la Cruz. The award recognizes "the value of the public kitchens of the archipelago, which make life more pleasant for the islanders and encourage the interest of tourists."

The event was attended by the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, who wanted to "accompany the young Lanzarote chef José Francisco Medina, winner of the award for best Revelation Chef of the Canary Islands 2022 for his work at the Alarz restaurant, and congratulate all the kitchen professionals on the island who have seen their work, talent and creativity recognized at this gala." Among the public were 350 prominent personalities related to the world of gastronomy and from different areas of the archipelago.

Perdomo received an award that is the "public recognition of a strategy that involves valuing the work of our primary sector and turning the emblematic space designed by César Manrique into the ideal place to preserve and exhibit the recipes, aromas and flavors of the island's traditional cuisine."

The councilor ruled out that this award "will make us fall into complacency", and pointed out that "it will be an incentive to continue improving day by day a proposal that conquers more and more followers."

Other restaurants awarded in the "Canarias sabe a tradición" category were Bodegón Casa Tomás, in Tegueste (TF); El Padrino, in Las Coloradas (GC); Casa Pedro El Crusantero, in Santa Úrsula (TF); El Horno, in Villaverde (FUE); Asador El Campesino, in Barlovento (LP) and Perico Junior, in Telde (GC).
