Travel agencies and tour operators billed 22% more in June than last year

They also increased their workforces by 11.8% compared to June of the previous year.

The turnover of travel agencies and tour operators increased by 21.8% in June compared to the previous year, with an average advance of 42.9% in the first six months of 2023, according to the hosteltur news portal based on the report on Activity Indicators of the Services Sector of the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

A year ago, these companies managed to exceed the 2019 data and now they exceed them by 24.47%

This indicator measures the short-term evolution of the activity of companies belonging to the non-financial market services sector through two variables: turnover and employed personnel.

Regarding the second aspect, travel agencies and tour operators also registered an increase in employment, with an increase of 11.8% of workers in their staff compared to June 2022 –2.9% compared to the previous month–, and an average of 10.4% in the first six months of 2023.
