The Oasis Hotel in Costa Teguise will close its doors this Wednesday to carry out refurbishment and improvement works on all its facilities for the next six months. The investment, according to hotel sources, will be around eight million euros and will affect both the exterior and the rooms and common areas.

The hotel has a four-star category and offers the all-inclusive modality. Since last year, together with the Teguise Playa hotel, it belongs to La Caixa. It has a staff of 70 permanent employees who are affected by a temporary layoff until the works are finished and they are readmitted. During these six months they will participate in a social support plan in which they will receive training.

The works will be carried out by the Lanzarote company Hormiconsa and will consist of the renovation of the 370 rooms (100 of them suites), the construction of a new restaurant, playgrounds and entertainment areas in the swimming pools, replacement of pipes, air conditioning, incorporation of new technology networks, etc., as well as the change of the exterior appearance of the hotel.

The hotel director, Marino Orlandi, points out that the intention of the owners is to turn the hotel into one of the best in the area in its category and in its all-inclusive modality. He points out that they want to attract a higher quality client and will mainly orient the hotel to the family segment, building rooms for two adults and up to three children.
