The Hotel Salinas in Costa Teguise, now under the luxury brand Paradisus by Meliá, reopens its doors with 282 rooms and villas, a 1,800 square meter pool, tropical gardens designed by César Manrique, and seven dining options.
In 1979, the hotel was awarded the International Architecture Prize. Today, after a comprehensive renovation and redecoration of the spaces, Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote is a 5-star luxury hotel, only for adults, with direct access to the beach, spa, gym, meeting rooms, outdoor pool, tennis court, rooms with private pool, villas, and 7 different dining spaces.
After Paradisus Gran Canaria, Salinas is the second hotel in the group to take the Paradisus name in Spain. The objective, according to company sources, is to "elevate the definition of all-inclusive to a new level, connecting guests with the destination, culture, and nature."
Under the slogan "Embrace Your Nature", the Meliá Hotels International brand offers an immersion in the culture of each of the places where its hotels are located.
"A new concept of all-inclusive"
As part of their stay, guests can access a wide variety of experiences such as cooking workshops or excursions to the most hidden or iconic places on the island, such as Jameos del Agua or the Cactus Gardens, as well as artistic visits to places like the emblematic winery El Grifo.
Haute cuisine is another attraction of this hotel, which combines international, Mediterranean, and signature Canarian cuisine that will reinterpret classics such as papas arrugás with mojo, Canarian beef rib torrija, ropa vieja, and a long list of suggestions, including local cheeses and wines.
The renovated hotel has four restaurants: Malva Food Bazaar; Capella Italian Restaurant; La Graciosa; and Santé (Arabic cuisine). It also includes three bars: Ginger Lobby Bar & Cocktail, Ginger Pool Bar (with 24-hour open kitchen), and The Reserve Bar.
The menu at La Graciosa Restaurant has been designed by Germán Ortega from La Acuarela restaurant in Mogan, which has one Michelin star and two Repsol Guide suns.
A hotel that is an artistic heritage of Lanzarote
Designed by Fernando Higueras and César Manrique, the building, Artistic and Cultural Heritage of Lanzarote, combines Higueras' rationalist architecture with the murals, pool, and garden design of the Canarian artist and painter.
More than 40 years ago, Higueras took charge of the main building with the idea that the concrete, formwork, geometry of the folds, and monumental exaggeration would blend with nature and the environment.
For his part, Manrique took the reins of the hotel's pool, with an area of 1,800 square meters, the design of the impressive tropical gardens—with more than 300 plant species—and the frescoes and sculptures that give color and warmth to the building and interiors.
The hotel is one of the assets that is part of the alternative investment vehicle Victoria Hotels & Resorts, in which Meliá Hotels International, Bankinter Investment, and GMA participate.
