Despite the fact that many more vehicles were registered in May for the summer season than during the same month last year, mostly for car rental companies, this growth has not compensated for the sharp falls recorded in the first quarter.

So far in 2024, 2,060 vehicles have been registered, which is equivalent to 9% less than during the first five months of last year, i.e. 207 fewer cars.

The majority of this year's registrations, 725 units, took place in San Bartolomé, especially in May, when they accounted for half of all those carried out on the island. These figures give an idea of the strength of the Lanzarote car rental sector in the new car market.

Next is Arrecife, where 628 vehicles have been registered so far this year. Yaiza, Tías and Teguise registered approximately two hundred registrations each.

In Tinajo and Haría, 55 and 33 vehicles were registered respectively, so far this year.
