The management of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote has defended in a press release that it continues to work on "the implementation of a management model focused on the visitor and on the continuous improvement of the quality of the tourist experience" with the aim of generating "an unforgettable memory of their visit to the island."
"This is a model," explained the CEO of the Centers, Ángel Vázquez, "that is supported both by the evaluations of our visitors in the surveys and by the historical results achieved last year." In this regard, he recalled that in 2024 a record net profit of 5.6 million euros was reached, while the wealth generated for the island increased.
The Board of Directors Meeting
The Board of Directors meeting this morning has given the green light to the 2026 Budget, which amounts to 50.9 million euros. Pending the Central Government's approval of the spending ceiling, and the agreement for the salary increase of public workers, this estimated economic forecast is based on the consolidation of the improvements introduced in the visitor experience and the strengthening of the restaurant area. "It is a prudent and realistic budget, aligned with the perspectives of the tourism sector for next year and with that return journey to the essence of the Tourist Centers in which we are immersed, to recover what we are and what we represent," Vázquez stressed.
Investment in maintenance, culture, and job stability
The 2026 Budget includes an investment of almost one million euros in the maintenance and conservation of the spaces created by César Manrique, and 600,000 euros in cultural services, thus reaffirming the Entity's commitment to the protection and dissemination of the island's artistic and cultural heritage. "It is our reason for being, our purpose," Vázquez said.
It also highlights the adaptation of 240 job positions to the actual functions performed by the workers, as established by the Labor Framework. "Each worker will occupy the position they hold with the appropriate category. In no case does this involve an increase in positions or payroll costs," it states.
