The Cabildo met this Tuesday with tourism entrepreneurs and the Teguise City Council to analyze the worrying situation in Costa Teguise. All interlocutors are alarmed by the decadent situation in this important area of Lanzarote.
The absence of complementary offerings, the proliferation of all-inclusive options, unfinished infrastructures that give a sense of marginality, and the incompatibility of many residential beds with tourist beds, hinder its development.
Request for study
The First Island Corporation has committed to making an effort to give a new boost to Costa Teguise. The Corporation will ask the Government of the Canary Islands for a thorough study of the situation in order to put alternatives on the table and implement them quickly.
Currently, Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen are projected as the tourist centers with the greatest economic growth, while Costa Teguise is dangerously lagging behind.
