Vehicle registrations increase almost 20% in the Canary Islands in 2023

So far this year, a total of 4,453 vehicles have been registered in Lanzarote, 4% more than had been registered in the same period last year, according to the Lanzarote Data Center with figures from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC) and the Directorate General of Traffic.

After the declines experienced during the years affected by the covid 19 pandemic, registration data are back to 2019 levels, when 4,425 vehicles had been registered by this time.

The data also reveal greater regularity in the number of registrations per month, unlike last year when there were large differences between the winter and summer periods.

This year, the months with the highest number of registrations on the island have been June, July and August, in which the barrier of 600 vehicles each month has been exceeded.
