Playa Honda has inaugurated its open commercial area this Thursday, which has an extensive program of events that will take place until next Saturday. "We are hopeful and eager for this to be revitalized, for people to come and participate," said the president of the Business Association of Calle Mayor, Francisco Tobar.
After the period of completion of works, entrepreneurs are confident that the pedestrianization of part of this street will attract citizens to start shopping in this area of Playa Honda. This Thursday, different authorities have taken a walk to present the renovation of this street.
Among the attendees were the mayor of San Bartolomé, María Dolores Corujo, the general director of Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, Gustavo Mato, the vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Joaquín Caraballo, the Minister of Commerce, Consumption and Energy, Rocío Arredondo and municipal councilors.
Multiple activities until Saturday
Neighbors who come from this Thursday until Saturday can enjoy varied proposals for all audiences, including a toy library, workshops, inflatables, performance by the Circus School, and concerts, which will bring to the area Treintaytantos, Guenia Ensemble, Los Verbenas, Cumbia Ebria and batucadas. There will also be storytelling, puppets with the play "The Magic Dragon", children's theater with the plays "Magic Will Be" and "Mischief in the Sky", and the magic show "Mago Ladis".
The shops in the area also actively participate, making tutorials or parades and, especially, applying discounts during these days so that the public comes to Calle Mayor. In addition, for one euro, they will have the possibility to participate in a raffle organized by Viajes Playa Honda, which raffles a round trip ticket to Gran Canaria, another to Fuerteventura or a stay on the neighboring island of two nights.
A cafeteria, Daniel’s 77, will organize a free barbecue and there will also be a Motoclub exhibition, under the name of "Nomads of Lanzarote". All these events will take place along this street, in several areas intended for each of the proposals.
The mayor of San Bartolomé has invited residents of the town and the municipality, as well as other parts of the island and visitors, "to enjoy the wide range of leisure activities for these three days, in which the small local business takes center stage." "A leisure offer combined with promotions and discounts that participating businesses will apply. You can't miss it, you have an indisputable appointment on the 24th, 25th and 26th in Playa Honda, on Calle Mayor, to do your shopping while entertaining yourself with the planned program," the mayor insisted.
