With the aim of reinforcing the commercial brand image of Arrecife and its commercial axes, the city council of the Lanzarote capital has presented its plan to boost local commerce for the last quarter of the year, which, with a budget of 56,000 euros, will include artistic and recreational performances that will tour the main streets of the commercial area of Arrecife.
The areas chosen are León y Castillo, Canalejas, El Almacén, Fajardo, Hermanos Zerolo and Antono Porlier y Sopranis. It will also include emblematic places such as La Plazuela, Plaza Las Palmas and Charco de San Ginés.
"Since 2019 we were clear that the only economic activity in Arrecife is commerce,” said the mayor Astrid Pérez, who also highlighted the "different attraction and beautification projects" that the city council has carried out.
For his part, the Councilor for Tourism, Armando Santana, said that a quality trade "does not exist if we do not have an adequate environment." In this regard, Santana highlighted the upcoming opening of the Open Mall shopping center, in the fall of this year, something that he assures "will greatly reinforce the commerce of the capital."
The promotion and revitalization of commercial areas, as well as customer loyalty and the attraction of new consumers, are also among the objectives set by the plan.
This project will be executed with funds from the Cabildo de Lanzarote and with funds from the City Council.
