A model of the Seat Ibiza painted by César Manrique is the main attraction of the stand with which CICAR/Grupo Cabrera Medina attends the International Tourism Fair of Catalonia one more year, which is held at the Barcelona fairgrounds this weekend. The car occupies one of the wings of the Cicar/Grupo Cabrera Medina stand, presided over by a large-scale photograph of Manrique.
The tourism fair of Catalonia responds to the main motivation of today's tourist: to live experiences on their trip. CICAR/Grupo Cabrera Medina joined this trend in 2015, when the Lanzarote company made almost a hundred replicas of the vehicle painted by César Manrique in 1987, which have been incorporated into its fleet of rental cars in the seven Canary Islands. In this case, the experience consists of being able to travel the Canary Islands aboard one of these exclusive cars.
The original Seat Ibiza was painted by the artist in 1987, and the reissue has been possible with the approval of the César Manrique Foundation and the cooperation of Seat-España. Baptized with the artist's last name, Seat Ibiza-Manrique-del Sol, the Spanish brand's model was shown at the Barcelona Motor Show of the same year, standing out for its innovative, original design full of the colorfulness so characteristic of César Manrique's painting.
The Cabrera Medina Group was created in 1967. After nearly 50 years, the Group retains its family structure, offers services throughout the Canary Islands and is present in all airports, ports, tourist areas and strategic points of the Canary Archipelago. It has about 8,000 rental vehicles, is a leader in its sector in the Islands, has more than 80 points of sale for both rent a car and vehicle sales, and provides direct employment to 1,200 people.
