The Lanzarote Security and Emergencies Consortium has initiated a procedure for the search and selection of a vessel intended for the establishment of a fire station, with the objective of reinforcing operational resources and improving the response capacity to emergencies on the island
The president of the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote, Francisco Javier Aparicio Betancor, has highlighted that “this action responds to the need to continue improving the operational infrastructures of the service, guaranteeing a faster and more effective response to any emergency on the island”.
According to what is established in the procedure, the vessel shall be located in any case within the municipal boundaries of Arrecife.
According to the accumulated experience, the previous studies carried out, the existing connections and the planned urban development, the area around the LZ-20 road (Arrecife – San Bartolomé) is considered a priority zone, a more specific location in the Argana neighborhood, in the vicinity of the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital, is considered especially suitable
