Selective tests called to fill 150 positions in the General Body of the Canary Islands Police, Basic Scale, Police employment (Group C, Subgroup C1), of the Public Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands through the general system of free access.
This is how it is recorded in the resolution published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) by the Directorate General of Studies, Training and Research in Public Security.
The CGPC currently has 286 agents and it is planned that 143 applicants will soon enter the Security Academy to undergo training. Along with the 150 new positions, the Autonomous Police will reach 579 officers.The Governing Council, at the request of the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security, headed by Nieves Lady Barreto, approved in November 2024 **the largest OPE in the history of the Corps** since its creation in 2010 to be executed in three years and also expanded the Catalog of Positions so that the Corps could continue to grow
The approval of this OPE was the previous step for the Ministry of the Presidency to be able to carry out the calls for positions to increase the number of members of the General Corps of the Canary Police that, at the beginning of the current legislature, remained stagnant at 192 agents.
Regarding the current call, the BOC published the bases with the requirements for the applicants, who must complete the form available at the electronic headquarters
The deadline for submitting applications to participate in the selection tests will be 20 working days, counted from the day after their publication in the BOC. Once the deadline has expired, the Directorate General of Studies, Training and Research in Public Security will publish the provisional list of admitted and excluded persons and the period for correcting defects (10 days).
In the annexes to the resolution all the necessary information for the selection system is detailed, which will be free competition and will consist of the following phases: opposition, selective training course and practical phase.In the opposition phase, it will consist of a knowledge and **language test, physical tests, psychotechnical tests, and medical examination**, in that order and each one with a mandatory and eliminatory character.
The persons named as trainees will undertake a Basic Training Course, the duration of which will be 1,100 hours, organized by the Directorate General of Studies, Training and Research in Public Security.
