Three hospitals of the Hospiten Group have obtained awards in the "Top 20" program for the best hospitals in Spain in 2012. Hospiten Sur in Tenerife has been awarded as "best medium-sized private hospital", Hospiten Clínica Roca San Agustín in Gran Canaria and Hospiten Lanzarote have received their awards in the category of "best small private hospital".
The Top 20 Hospitals program is an initiative aimed at hospitals that voluntarily and freely wish to participate in an objective assessment process of their work, based on available quantitative data. In this edition, 162 hospitals from the national territory have participated, both public and private.
It should be noted that Hospiten Clínica Roca San Agustín has already received this award three times and Hospiten Sur twice since 2000. These awards demonstrate the commitment to patients and the quality of the Hospiten Group throughout its more than 40 years of history.
Best indicators
This study provides a simple yet rigorous methodology to identify the best results through a set of consolidated indicators in the evaluation of hospitals. In this way, it offers comparative patterns of best practice in the Spanish hospital sector and recognizes the work of the participating hospitals that present the best results in the indicators used.
This research is carried out annually by IASIST and evaluated by a scientific committee of specialists, who carry out an objective and independent assessment of the processes as well as certain health indicators. The hospitals are evaluated taking into account indicators of quality, operation and economic efficiency and groups the centers, among other criteria, according to their size and services they provide.
