Lanzarote ended November exceeding the threshold of 5,000 companies based on the island. Something that had not happened since before the covid-19 pandemic.
There are a total of 5,007 island companies, those registered with Social Security at present, which is considered a good indicator of recovery of the business fabric in Lanzarote.
The island had managed to exceed 5,000 businesses for the first time in its history during the autumn of 2017 and remained above that figure at the end of 2019, when 5,090 companies were recorded.
A figure that, by the end of March 2020, had already plummeted to 4,530 companies. And it continued to decline. By the end of March of the following year there were only 4,447 businesses.
