Hospiten Lanzarote launches a new neurosurgery service that is led by Dr. Dailos Betancor, a specialist in neurosurgery from the Insular Materno Infantil University Hospital, a university expert in Diagnostic Management of Brain Tumors and Tumors in Pediatric Age, a university master's degree in Neurological Oncology, and a member of the Spanish Society of Neurosurgery.

The launch of this service will allow that soon, patients with pathologies related to the brain, spinal cord, and spine (CNS) can be operated on and treated directly in the facilities that the healthcare group has in Lanzarote, instead of having to move outside the island.

Dr. Betancor believes that the new service represents an important improvement in the healthcare provided to patients in Lanzarote, as it will allow for a more exhaustive monitoring of the various pathologies related to neurosurgery and offer more direct and rapid care.

In this sense, he explained that there are pathologies of the brain and spine (mostly cervical and lumbar problems) that require evaluation by a specialist in Neurosurgery for treatment. From now on, they can be treated directly in Lanzarote.

The Neurosurgery Service that is incorporated into Hospiten Lanzarote will collaborate with other hospital services, such as Neurology, Neurophysiology, or Rehabilitation, in order to guarantee multidisciplinary care for patients.
