The health center Hospiten Lanzarote celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary on the island. The hospital facility, which was recognized in 2023 among the best private hospitals in Spain, with the award for 'Global Hospital Management' in the Small Private Hospitals segment awarded by IQVIA, has attended to more than 400,000 patients during its first twenty-five years of activity in Lanzarote.
For Juan José Hernández, executive president of Hospiten, "it is a pride to be able to celebrate this first quarter of a century of commitment to health, excellence and personalized attention to our patients. Since the founding of Hospiten 55 years ago, we have worked tirelessly to offer medical services of the highest quality, continuously innovating to adapt to the needs of the Lanzarote community and its visitors throughout these 25 years".
The event was attended by local authorities such as the Hon. Ms. Migdalia Machín Tavío, Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands; the Hon. Ms. Nori Machín, Minister of the area of elderly and intergenerational relations of the Cabildo de Lanzarote; and the Hon. Mr. José Juan Cruz Saavedra, mayor of the Tías city council.
Juan José Hernández dedicated a special mention to all the authorities; "Once again, I reiterate my gratitude to all the authorities, present and not present at this event, of the island of Lanzarote. Thanks to all of you it has been possible to undertake this path".
Commitment to patients and innovation
Since its inauguration in Puerto del Carmen, Hospiten Lanzarote has treated more than 400,000 patients, performed 25,000 surgical interventions and more than 300,000 patients treated in emergencies. This has been possible thanks to the more than 1,000 people who have performed their professional work in this center during these 25 years.
Likewise, the hospital center has opted from the beginning for technology and innovation as fundamental pillars of patient care, incorporating, among other technologies, augmented reality in the implantation of knee prostheses and dermatology by image.
