Circo Alegría returns to Lanzarote and this time it does so with Gaby Aragón's children in a circus show paying tribute to Los Payasos de la Tele. Gaby and Lara Aragón, children of the mythical clown Gaby and nephews of Miliki and Fofó, will rescue the era of Los Payasos de la Tele and infect the children of the 21st century with the spirit of illusion that captivated their parents in front of the small screen.
Adults and children will be able to discover from Friday, December 22 to Sunday, January 7 a show full of memories: ‘How Are You?’, ‘La Gallina Turuleta’, ‘El Auto Nuevo’, ‘How My Nose Itches’, ‘Hola Don Pepito’ and many more songs. The great Circo Alegría tent will be installed in the Arrecife Fairgrounds.
Gaby and Lara Aragón travel to the past to pay tribute to their family. And they do so by rescuing their songs on the Circo Alegría track. "We wanted to pay tribute to our family and also reach today's children with the songs of a lifetime", explains Gaby.
"The truth is that parents expect us more than children because they are the ones who identify us, even if they have transmitted who my family is, the Aragón family", explains the artist. "Belonging to the Aragón family is an honor and a responsibility. Every time I go on stage, the public gives me an exam", adds Aragón.
The show
The first part of the show is a tour of the main circus artistic disciplines. A representation of numbers carried out by international professionals will remind the public of the essence of the traditional circus in its purest form: jugglers, magicians or trapeze artists will delight those present. And all this accompanied by a spectacular dance company.
The second part of the show focuses on the memory of Los Payasos de la Tele. "Gaby appears dressed in the original suit and from there "it is a journey to the past. To take our children back to our childhood", says Lara Aragón. "Every time we go out on the track and our performance begins, we see smiles, faces of illusion and even tears of emotion among the audience. It is a very strange sensation. On the one hand, paying tribute to our family and on the other, remembering all those moments that we lived together", comments Aragón emotionally.
"It is not a circus like the ones people are used to seeing. It is a theatrical circus, like the ones from before. We don't have animals but some traditional numbers adapted and a lot of music and humor", says the clown.
"Given the profile of the show's numbers, our circus is focused on both adults and children. We usually see groups of friends without children who want to remember their young times, which is super exciting", adds Gaby.
Aragón Family
‘Los Payasos de la Tele’ is the name by which the trio of Spanish clowns initially formed by Gaby, Fofó and Miliki and later joined by Fofito and Rody (sons of Fofó) and Milikito (son of Miliki) was popularly known.
"Everything my father taught me I continue to put into practice, especially the respect that they told me I had to have for the public. Not to deceive them, to make them laugh in a healthy way, with jokes that can be understood from the grandmother to the grandson and without having to laugh at people's defects", says Gaby.
Sound and music have contributed a lot to the way of telling stories, although we also wanted to preserve and rescue the old essence with numbers that had not been done for a long time. "You have to keep the good of the old and be intelligent enough to innovate and put modernity into what we do", says Gaby.
Tickets can be purchased from 8 euros at www.circoalegria.es and at the circus box office.
