Bodegas Martinón has been awarded in the Wine Trophy of Portugal 2022 with a gold and a silver medal thanks to its Blanco Martinón and Blanc de Noirs references, respectively.
Its Blanco Martinón is a 100% volcanic Malvasia dry white wine, made with this native grape from the Island that, after being harvested manually and cooled in chambers, is macerated and pressed to ferment until developing the aging of the wine on its lees.
For its part, the Blanc de Noirs Martinón is created from a vatting of the selected grape to, subsequently, carry out a minimal peculiar maceration, followed by a rapid bleeding of the must to avoid transferring color.
It should be noted that the Portugal Wine Trophy is one of the most important wine challenges in Portugal. This year, the contest has taken place on the island of Madeira, specifically in the Bairrada region.
In the contest, the jury of the wine competition, formed by an independent group of expert winemakers, sommeliers, «masters of wine», experienced merchants and winegrowers, tasted the wines and awarded the recognized prizes. All this done in accordance with the rules and guidelines of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the International Union of Oenologists (UIOE).
Finally, the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Vinos de Lanzarote wanted to congratulate Bodegas Martinón for "the professional work they are doing", since "awards like these continue to focus on the value of the island's wines."
