The latest tests performed on the German patient infected with the coronavirus who remains admitted to the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Hospital in La Gomera have tested positive, so he will remain isolated in the hospital until the results of his tests are negative.
This was reported in statements to the media by the President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, who indicated that, despite having tested positive, this person "continues without symptoms and with favorable evolution".
Torres has announced that the second tests carried out on his four companions, who also remain admitted, have again tested negative, so they will be discharged and remain under observation in their apartment in Hermigua, where a sixth person is under monitoring.
The Canary Islands president made these statements after visiting the Hospital of La Gomera, where he traveled this Tuesday to monitor the situation.
"While still in La Gomera, we received the analysis of the citizens isolated in the hospital. Good news: the four who have lived with the infected person tested negative. They will be discharged from the hospital; they will remain under observation in their residence in La Gomera," the president announced on his Twitter account. However, shortly after he also confirmed that the other admitted patient has tested positive again.
