The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has assured this Friday that his team is going to adopt a legal decision to reinforce the control in the entry and exit of people, both tourists and peninsulars who travel to the archipelago, affirming that they are "finalizing" the issue related to the tests.
Torres has admitted that this issue "is not simple", because it is necessary to have "all the legal approvals to give maximum security to all those who enter and leave the Canary Islands from the tourist and health point of view", to which he added that there are also "difficulties" to make it a reality, such as being able to carry out the tests in airport facilities, since he pointed out that Aena has informed them that they need the authorization of Foreign Health.
In any case, he stated that it will be an issue that will be discussed in the Governing Council of the regional Executive this Friday and in the coming days, because "some legal fringes are missing".
The Canarian president has also pointed out that when he has held conversations with businessmen, the cost "is not what worries them the most", since he pointed out that there will be support from the public and private sectors. According to Torres, what is worrying is everything related to the infrastructure where to carry out the tests, the speed, the mechanisms or that they are approved by the countries where tourists return, among others, because it seeks to "give maximum security to the people who come and those who live" in the islands.
