The 30 to 39 age group is where positive cases are growing the most in the Canary Islands in the last week

Following this age group is the 40 to 49 age group, which has experienced an increase of six positive cases in the last seven days.

The age group from 30 to 39 years old is where the most positive cases of coronavirus are increasing in the Canary Islands in the week between July 27 and August 2. Specifically, this age group experiences an increase of 11 cases, going from 393 positive cases on July 27 to 404 registered on Sunday, August 2.

Following this age group is the 40 to 49 age group, which in the last seven days has experienced an increase of six positive cases, starting the week of July 27 with 446 and ending on August 2 with 452 positive cases.

This age group currently encompasses the most accumulated cases of coronavirus in the archipelago, with 452, according to data published by the Regional Ministry of Health of the regional Executive on its website.

Likewise, a smaller increase is observed in the age groups between 50 and 59 years old, as well as between 60 and 69 years old, where the increase is four positive cases, in such a way that they conclude the last week of July with 405 and 382 accumulated cases, respectively.

Next in the increase of positive cases of coronavirus is the age group between 20 and 29 years old, which from July 27 to August 2 has experienced a growth of three cases, so that it currently registers a total of 315 positive cases in the archipelago.

On the other hand, an increase of two cases has been registered in the age groups between 0 and 9 years old, and 10 and 19 years old, with 15 and 84 positive cases in total each; while between 70 and 79 years old, and from 80 years old onwards, the increase registered has been one positive case, with the total count being 321 cases between 70 and 79 years old, and 266 in those over 80 years old.

All of this, when the Canary Islands registers a total of 2,646 positive cases since the health crisis began due to the coronavirus pandemic, of which 142 cases are active in the archipelago, of which two people are in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 13 in a hospital ward and 127 under surveillance at home.

Currently, in the archipelago a total of 2,342 people have been discharged from the hospital, while 162 did not overcome the disease.

Given these data and the increase in positive cases of coronavirus, the Canarian Government is holding an extraordinary government council this Monday where it plans to adopt new measures and compare some of those already implemented in order to reduce the outbreaks that are occurring in the islands and that the regional Executive emphasizes are especially originating in private and family gatherings.
