The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has shown this Wednesday his solidarity with the Canary Islands and the commitment of "the entire Civil Protection system" given the situation of intense rains in the archipelago due to the passage of storm Therese.
At the beginning of his appearance in Congress to give explanations of Spain's position regarding the war in the Middle East, the head of the Executive has dedicated his first words to the Canary Islands and its population.
Sánchez has shown the commitment of the civil protection system and has regretted that when there are "common challenges" such as the "climate emergency" affecting citizens, Spain has to talk about war instead of how to face these problems.
The Spanish president has also shared support on his X account, recalling that the island of Tenerife was under a red alert for rain in its entire northern zone and in the metropolitan area.
We remain very attentive to the effects of #BorrascaTherese.

The population is requested to avoid unnecessary travel and follow the instructions of local and island authorities. Much caution. https://t.co/pds7n5RI8c
