The president of the Association of Restaurants and Leisure of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (AERO), Ramón Fariña, stated this Thursday that judicial avenues are being studied to avoid the closure of activity inside bars, restaurants and leisure venues once the Government of the Canary Islands has decreed that the island of Tenerife rises to level 3 of epidemiological alert.
"We did not expect it, we do not understand the measure, it makes no sense," he told Europa Press, given that the hotel industry currently "has no focus at source" and a sector is penalized when the state of alarm and the curfew have already expired and social gatherings are allowed.
Fariña commented that the measure, which will come into effect this Saturday and will last until July 7, "is a brake" on economic recovery and gives an external image of Tenerife "not at all favorable" at the gates of the summer tourist campaign.
Thus, he commented that they hope to meet with the Government of the Canary Islands so that it "desists" from this decision and maintains the capacity of the interiors at 50 percent of capacity, given that the new measure "is not fair."
Likewise, he questioned the work of the traces because they "have not given information" exact of the infections and the leisure and restaurant premises can be inspected, and although he has assumed that the island has a "social problem" with the pandemic, he has rejected that the image is projected that citizens are "all day with a batucada."
