The age group of people between 20 and 29 years old in the Canary Islands has experienced the largest increase in Covid cases in the last week, since it has registered 138 more positives, going from 3,224 on November 9 to 3,362 at the end of the 15th, which has meant an increase of 4.2 percent.
The second position in this last week is for those between 40 and 49, who registered 130 more cases (+4%), going from 3,238 to 3,368 on November 15; followed by Canarians between 30 and 39 years old who add 120 new cases, which has meant an increase of 3.79 percent, ending the week with 3,282, according to statistical data from the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands collected by Europa Press.
After these ranges, the one that accumulates the most cases is that of people between 50 and 59 years old who add 115 new cases in the last seven days (+4.3%), bringing their total to 2,787; followed by people between 10 and 19 years old who register 84 new cases (4.92%) and total 1,791.
Likewise, people between 60 and 69 years old add 70 cases, which has meant a growth of 3.9 percent, ending the week with a total of 1,821. After this range are the Canarians between 70 and 79 years old, where new cases increase by 4.65 percent, adding 52 new ones, since it goes from 1,118 on November 9 to 1,170 on the 15th.
Finally, among children from 0 to 9 years old, Covid cases increased by 5.6 percent, registering 47 new cases and ending the week with 873 cases; while among people over 80 years old is where new cases increase the least, since they add 49 cases (+6.46%), which at the end of the week totaled 807.
Currently, the Canary Islands registers an accumulated of 19,262 positives, of which 4,260 are epidemiologically active cases, of which 40 are admitted to the ICU and 191 are hospitalized on the ward. In addition, so far 306 people have died.
