Coalición Canaria exhausts the deadlines set after the call for the general elections on 23J to forge a great alliance with Canarian nationalist parties, in which at this time of negotiations is not Nueva Canarias, with the ultimate goal that the islands are well represented in Congress, if possible through a group.
This was confirmed this Wednesday to EFE sources from that party, who specified that the negotiations underway "do not aim at the consolidation of an electoral coalition, but a political coalition."
Although the two formations had started conversations in recent days, in that alliance promoted by CC is not at this time the partner with whom it shared a list to Congress for Las Palmas in 2019, Nueva Canarias, party with which it has not found understanding to repeat electoral coalition.
The intention of CC, at a time when political polarization prevails, is to constitute a nationalist platform that "gives voice to the Canary Islands" in Congress and defends in it "the interests of this territory".
Among other formations, Coalición Canaria expects that the Agrupación Herreña Independiente will join that electoral alliance for 23J, a party that this Wednesday itself signs its adhesion to its pact with the PP to form the new Government of the Canary Islands.
