Canary Islands reports 96 cases of coronavirus and two deaths in the last day

The Canary Islands has registered 96 new cases of coronavirus COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of accumulated cases in the islands to 97,909; while it has had to mourn the death of two people, up to 1,011 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, there are currently 1,347 active patients with coronavirus, of which 20 are admitted to the ICU and 107 remain hospitalized.

Regarding the deceased, there has been the death of a 48-year-old woman in Tenerife and a 41-year-old man in Gran Canaria, both with previous pathologies and who remained in hospital admission.

The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 29.87 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 58.73 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds this Sunday 43 cases with a total of 46,689 accumulated cases and 603 epidemiologically active cases; and Gran Canaria has 37,386 accumulated cases, 36 more than the previous day and 552 active.

Meanwhile, Lanzarote adds three new cases with 7,146 accumulated and 59 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 4,648 accumulated cases, with eight new cases, and 98 active.

For its part, La Palma adds three new positives, so it remains at 1,150 accumulated and 23 active, while El Hierro, without new cases, remains at 468 accumulated and one active. La Gomera reports three new positives, so it has 421 accumulated and its assets are 11.

Finally, as of this Sunday, a total of 2,277,839 diagnostic tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 3,095 correspond to Saturday.
