Canary Islands registers 168 new cases of covid-19 and two deaths

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports this Thursday 168 new cases of coronavirus COVID-19. The total of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 98,550 with 1,511 active, of which 20 are admitted to the ICU and 127 remain hospitalized. In the last hours, the death of two people in Gran Canaria has been reported: an 82-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man. Both suffered from previous pathologies and remained in hospital.

The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 44.44 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 70.54 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 69 cases with a total of 46,972 accumulated cases and 691 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 37,621 accumulated cases, 65 more than the previous day and 555 active. Lanzarote adds 19 new cases with 7,204 accumulated and 89 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 4,696 accumulated cases, with nine new cases, and 131 active. La Palma does not register new positives, so it remains at 1,155 accumulated and 22 active, while El Hierro, without new cases, remains at 468 accumulated and one active. La Gomera reports six new positives, so it has 433 accumulated and its assets are 22.

To date, a total of 2,294,891 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 5,247 correspond to the previous day.
