The Canary Islands have added six new positive cases of coronavirus this Tuesday, thus reaching 2,300, which implies 106.81 cases per 100,000 people, although no deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours and the figure remains at 155 deaths.
Thus, according to data from the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands updated after 8:00 p.m., they also reflect an increase of 54 medical discharges reaching a total figure of 1,626; while active cases drop by 48 and currently stand at 519 in the archipelago as a whole.
In relation to the 519 active cases, 14 are in one of the Intensive Care Units (ICU) of the archipelago, 44 are on the ward and the remaining 461 are in homes.
By islands, it should be noted that Fuerteventura, La Gomera and El Hierro have not registered any deaths from coronavirus during the health crisis, and as far as the last two island territories are concerned, there are currently no active positive cases, while in Fuerteventura of 45 cases, 42 have already been discharged.
Although the island of Tenerife has the highest number of positives, with 1,461, 105 deaths and 939 discharges; followed by Gran Canaria with 568 cases, 37 deaths and 468 medical discharges; La Palma with 95 positives, six deaths and 68 discharges; while Lanzarote registers 84 cases, six deaths and 72 medical discharges.
On the other hand, the Canarian Ministry of Health has reported that as of this Tuesday 86,585 people have been tested by the Canarian Health Service (SCS), pointing out that "many of them several times through different diagnostic tests", reaching 108,506 tests in total, of which 93,720 are PCR tests (Polymerase Chain Reaction) for the diagnosis of Covid-19 and 14,786 tests of molecular techniques, lgG and IgN and ELISA.
Finally, the Ministry of Health recalls the importance of maintaining security measures to avoid possible infections by the Covid-19 coronavirus, such as hand hygiene, in case of coughing do so in a disposable tissue or in the forearm, maintain a safe physical distance of at least one and a half meters with people who do not live together on a daily basis; wear a mask when it is not possible to guarantee the recommended distance.
