The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports 167 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus, although in the Grafcan portal 192 appear, of which 25 correspond to migrants who are not included in the statistics of community cases. The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 54,156 with 2,642 active, of which 69 are admitted to the ICU and 241 remain hospitalized. In the last hours there has been the death of a 71-year-old woman in Tenerife linked to a family outbreak, who suffered from previous pathologies and remained hospitalized.
The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands is 40.35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days it is 86.35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
By islands, Tenerife adds 71 cases with a total of 23,518 accumulated cases and 2,642 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria adds 54 cases and has 22,073 accumulated and 720 active. Lanzarote adds 36 new cases with 5,127 accumulated and 174 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura adds 2 cases, although in the Grafcan statistics 27 new cases appear, 25 correspond to migrants from a screening. These cases do not translate into an increase in community transmission and, therefore, will not affect the evaluation of the alert level of the Island, as they are cases that are controlled and the corresponding isolation protocol has already been initiated. For this reason, in the Grafcan statistics 192 cases appear instead of the 167 notified.
La Palma adds a new case, so its accumulated are 539 and its assets are nine; El Hierro increases its cases by three, standing at 366 accumulated and three active. Finally, La Gomera, without new cases, remains at 231 accumulated and three active cases.
Until this Wednesday, a total of 1,083,434 PCR tests have been carried out on the Islands, of which 3,773 correspond to the last 24 hours.
