The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports 1,228 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus. The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 274,166 with 17,348 active, of which 62 are admitted to the ICU and 478 remain hospitalized. In the last hours, the death of eight people has been reported, three in Tenerife, another three in Gran Canaria, one in Fuerteventura and another in El Hierro, aged between 63 and 94 years. All presented previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.
The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 241.78 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 531.12 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
By islands, Tenerife adds 492 cases with a total of 126,858 accumulated cases and 6,710 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 102,013 accumulated cases, 451 more than the previous day, and 8,375 active. Lanzarote adds 92 new cases with 19,069 accumulated and 433 epidemiologically active. Fuerteventura has 13,695 accumulated cases, with 129 new cases and 1,324 active. La Palma adds 55 new positives, bringing it to 9,184 accumulated and 377 active. El Hierro adds four new positives, so its accumulated are 1,700 and has 33 active cases and La Gomera adds five new cases, so it has 1,647 accumulated and its assets are 96.
Until this Wednesday, a total of 3,195,457 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 6,476 correspond to the previous day.
