The works that have been carried out for nine months in the center of Arrecife are harming the establishments in its surroundings. Specifically, the manager of the bar The V factor, located on La Porra street, has announced the closure of the establishment due to the negative consequences they are bringing.
"Since the works began, no one has come to the premises to explain anything to us," complains Beatriz P. A situation that has prevented them from taking measures in this regard for a long time. "We have not been able to apply for an ERTE until the works are finished," which was something she could have considered.
Six businesses are affected by the works, so their owners are surprised "not to have received news before," she says. "We are still waiting," she revealed. What has weighed on them the most is "missing someone who would come" at least on some occasion.
The reasons for its closure are clear: "the noise, the dust, and the loss of customers due to the changes of addresses that are not updated on Google." Something that becomes "very uncomfortable" for consumers and workers of the place. "They have put us in a mousetrap," is how the woman describes it. It should be noted that customers who come from outside Arrecife "suffer the chaos of the works," so much so that some "call us to cancel reservations because it is very difficult for them to arrive," she adds.
"They have put us in a mousetrap," she denounces
A situation they had not suffered until last March when the works began. "Until that moment, we were doing very well, also in the cruise season," she says. Although that has taken a radical turn, also for foreigners who want to come to the bar, "they don't know how to navigate the streets in Arrecife and get lost," she adds.
A sad ending considering that it is one of the vegan bars in the city. Beatriz laments and resigns herself: "I'm tired." She knows that "in a few years it will be a beautiful area to set up a business," but she does not feel prepared to continue. "Now I don't have the mental strength" to endure the situation, she says.
