A resident of Costa Teguise has contacted La Voz to express her opposition to the artificial beach that the Gloria Palace hotel chain intends to create in front of the five-star hotel that it will build on a plot located next to the Hotel Sands Beach, in the direction of Los Ancones.
"No one denies that a new five-star hotel may be good for Costa Teguise, despite the fact that its location will cause a landscape and environmental impact, but what seems like a real outrage to me is the possibility of establishing a new artificial beach in an area whose ecological value is remarkable and whose viability due to the dynamics of currents in the area is more than doubtful", considers this woman, who points out that "you only have to see how difficult it is to maintain the sand on Los Charcos beach, which is also artificial".
This resident hopes that "sanity prevails, that Costas does not give its approval and that this outrage is not committed". "Let it be known that the entire resident population of Costa Teguise is firmly opposed", says this woman, who points out that in Playa Blanca there are several five-star hotels and "they do not need a beach".
