A patient from Molina Orosa wanted to thank the hospital for the treatment received after suffering an accident last year.
"Last September 10th I suffered a trivial accident while I was on vacation on the island of Lanzarote. I slipped down the stairs of the Casa del Mar hostel in Arrecife with the misfortune of dislocating my ankle and breaking the distal part of the fibula. The 061 transferred me to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital where I spent four days waiting until I could leave to have surgery at the hospital where I work as a midwife, in Manacor, Mallorca. After the operation, the rest and the recovery, I am writing to thank you for the professionalism and care with which I was treated.
I am aware that I was an altered, demanding patient with post-traumatic shock. I felt very vulnerable and helpless being immobilized and without my family member for not being able to be with me due to covid. Paradoxically, health professionals are often the most difficult patients, if not the most unbearable, and I have no option but to apologize if I was impertinent at any time and express my sincere gratitude and admiration for the exquisitely human and welcoming treatment they gave me. I will always carry you in my heart.
From here I send you a virtual box of chocolates for the entire Emergency team, on-call traumatologists from September 10 to 13 and the fellow nurses and assistants on the second floor who were so patient with me and my most basic needs. I received a humbling experience that I revert every day in my own patients who, more vulnerable than myself then, seek my help and comfort in their deliveries. Thank you very much".
