At a key moment for sustainability and inclusion, the Association of People with Disabilities of Lanzarote (ADISLAN) presents REVERDECE: New employment niches in circular economy for people with intellectual disabilities, an ambitious training initiative that combines social integration, ecological transition and job opportunities.
This innovative project, which has been developed since January 2025 and will end in June 2026, is aimed at improving the employability of 40 people with intellectual disabilities through specialized training in emerging sectors of the circular economy. The proposal includes content in waste management, organic farming, furniture restoration and environmental education,
areas with growing demand and potential for social transformation.
Training with a human face: inclusive, practical and adapted
One of the pillars of the program is its inclusive and personalized training format. Through eight face-to-face courses, participants will receive both theoretical and practical content, in small groups and with Individual Support Plans designed by specialized professionals.
Each course incorporates a module of soft skills - such as teamwork, communication or conflict resolution - fundamental for a real and sustainable labor insertion. The project also has a cross-cutting focus on equal opportunities between men and women, thus consolidating a respectful, equitable and forward-looking training model.
Seal of quality and institutional support
The REVERDECE project is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) through the Empleaverde+ Program of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. This support validates not only the quality of the project, but also its alignment with the strategic objectives of sustainability and inclusion of the country.
From ADISLAN, a public utility entity with 56 years of experience in defending the rights and autonomy of people with disabilities, they emphasize that this initiative represents a step forward in the creation of new job opportunities in sustainable sectors, positioning Lanzarote as a benchmark in inclusion and green economy. "Training is transforming. And this project not only trains people, it transforms lives," they say from the entity.
