This first day of the 'Quemao Class presented by Billabong' has left images to remember, with epic wave conditions and impressive performances that have provided a unique spectacle.
All the competitors agreed that Thursday was undoubtedly "enviable and perfect", with this brutal wave giving its best.
The winner of the last surfing edition, the Basque Aritz Aranburu, has been one of the protagonists and commented: “I have already gotten rid of the nerves of the first series, there are incredible waves, it is perfect, very powerful, the series were so big that it was even scary to paddle them, but even so it is something spectacular”.
Luis Díaz, a surfer from Gran Canaria, also commented on the difficulty of this wave, but highlighting that it is a challenge worth facing and that tomorrow he will use himself thoroughly to reach the final.

Aday Perdomo, bodyboarder from Fuerteventura, also left a great performance and expressed that “I chose my waves very well, the Quemao tube is impressive, it provokes incredible sensations, now I look forward to the next round”.
The Australian bodyboarder Elliot Williams, although he could not pass his series, was grateful for the opportunity to compete in this event, with “waves different from the ones I am used to, since these are more powerful and dangerous, but even so, it is always a privilege to visit and compete in Lanzarote”.
Friday's Quemao Class will close the year proclaiming the new surf and bodyboard champions.
