FC Puerto del Carmen traveled to La Palma on Sunday to play against CD Tarsa and make up for the match that was pending from the sixth round of the Women's First National League, catching up in the national category taking advantage of the competition break throughout this past weekend.

The Lanzarote team started from the beginning to dominate the match and did so in the entire wide area of the Breña Alta field, having more of the ball, but sinning, once again, in the offensive aspect.

Despite the dominance, it was the local team that would take the lead on the scoreboard, when María Dolores took advantage of a defensive error by the Tiñosero team, which came out badly to pressure a ball, leaving the forward free and scoring in the first approach she had before the goal of Amelia, goalkeeper of the Preferential League team.

Again, the casualties had taken their toll on Jack Talbot's team, who had to improvise a defense of circumstances with players from the reserve team and the goalkeeper of the same, who although they performed well, the nervousness of the match was noticeable at times. With 1-0, the first half ended without the referee adding any seconds to the extension time.

In the second half, the dynamic was the same, but with the exception that the goal came to the Lanzarote team shortly after the restart, with Nieves scoring, putting the score on the table and her eighth goal of the season. Again, the forces were equalized, although, with high morale due to the goal and seeing that they were dominating, everything seemed to indicate that the match would end up falling to the visiting side.

However, it was not so despite the dominance, the lack of experience in defense compared to players with more career was an insurmountable handicap. In one of the few approaches of Tarsa, the attacker sought contact with the defense inside the area, with the defender making the mistake of entering the game and committing a penalty, as indicated by the referee. The shot, by Iquebana, ended in the goal and the second goal went up for Tarsa.

There were still 25 minutes left in which Puerto del Carmen tried actively and passively, but could not beat Claudia and put the tie back on the scoreboard, with time passing inexorably. With two minutes over time, the referee of the match blew the final whistle.

The coach of the Lanzarote team, Jack Talbot, lamented the opportunities lost by his team and the bad luck against a more effective rival, who shot three times on goal and scored two goals. Now it remains to think about next week's match, at the Municipal of Puerto del Carmen, where they will play again with CD Tarsa, in what would be the return to league normality.
